Scaling Agile? Take the LeSS view from Craig Larman, Mar 19, Brussels

After a successful Scaling Agile for the Enterprise congress last month we are very proud to once again present you one of the stalwart thought leaders regarding Agile at scale: Craig Larman.

As a co-creator of LeSS (Large-Scale Scrum), Craig will introduce us in the basics of what he calls a  organizational design framework.

Scaling Scrum starts with understanding standard one-team Scrum. From that point, your organization must be able to understand and adopt LeSS, which requires examining the purpose of one-team Scrum elements and figuring out how to reach the same purpose while staying within the constraints of the standard Scrum rules.

Agile development with Scrum requires a deep organizational change in order to become an agile. Therefore, neither Scrum nor LeSS should be considered as merely a practice. Rather, they form an organizational design framework.

clarmanCraig Larman is the co-creator of LeSS (Large-Scale Scrum), and since 2005 has worked with clients to apply the LeSS framework for scaling Scrum, lean thinking, and agile development to big product groups. Much of his work is organizational-design consulting with senior-management teams of product groups adopting LeSS.

Craig was one of the first Certified Scrum Trainers, and helped kick off the Agile movement.
