Session 1 ‘DevSecOps and Continuous Compliance: Lessons from practice at Defence’
In recent years, the DevOps team has put a lot of effort into building products that are built and managed according to the DevSecOps paradigm.
A lot of time has been spent on a ‘production process’ where practices like Unit Testing, 4 eye principle, shift left principle, cloud techniques, etc. are the standard way of working for the team members.
They do this to make their products manageable, linkable and as secure as possible, with the shortest possible time to market in accordance with ‘all’ compliancy rules within Defence). This team also continuously works and thinks along in the continuous compliancy discussion. Through the experiences of this team, the Defence organisation can be inspired to take a step forward in topics DevSecOps and continuous compliancy.
Bio Niels, session leader:
Niels is product owner at a decentralised DevOps teams at Korps Commando Troepen (KCT). Besides KCT staff, this DevOps team also consists of JIVC staff. In addition, the decentralised CIO of Commando LAnd Armed Forces (CLAS) is also part of this collaboration.

Session 2 ‘No business agility without inclusive compliance’
This session shows why inclusive compliance is a prerequisite for business agility. Without an inclusive and well-integrated approach to compliance, organisations remain stuck in rigid structures that hinder agility. Kay shows how to use compliance not as an obstacle, but as a catalyst for business agility. The approach he explains has a focus on both inherited compliance and emergent compliance and remains practical by addressing the ‘how ’ question and real-life examples.
Bio Kay, session leader:
Kay is an expert on inclusive compliance and business agility. An agilist at heart, he shows that without inclusive compliance, true business agility is not possible. Besides leading and supervising change processes, he has been giving presentations and master classes since 2000. For the last 2.5 years, he has developed the approach that integrates compliance and agility for a Dutch Government organisation: Inclusive Compliance.
